Richard Crawford

An amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend, Richard Haygood Crawford passed away on Mon., May 18, 2009, in Baton Rouge, La., at the age of 76.
He was a native of Andalusia and grew up in Pike County where he graduated from Goshen High School. He was a resident of Baton Rouge, La., for 44 years. He was a retired as a 25-year employee of Borden Chemical in Geismar, La.
He is survived by his son, Richard H. Crawford, Jr. (Dianne M.) of Austin, Texas; daughter, Tammy A. Crawford of Baton Rouge, La.; son, David M. Crawford of Chicago, Ill.; granddaughters, Amelia L. Crawford and Carlisle F. Crawford of Austin, Texas, and Caitlyn A. Parker of Baton Rouge, La., and grandsons, Richard Benjamin Crawford of Austin, Texas, Jeffrey D. Parker Jr. and Shannon M. Parker, both of Baton Rouge, La.
Visitation will be held today, Sat., May 23, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. at Foreman-Brown Funeral Home in Andalusia. Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Benjamin and Cleta Augusta Crawford; wife, Sara Nell Crawford and daughter, Melanie Crawford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the ARC of the United States or a charity of one’s choice.
