Edward Gene Kilpatrick, 76, of Searcy, Ariz., went home to be with the Lord on Thurs., May 28, 2009.
He was born March 24, 1933, to Joe and Leanna Kilpatrick in Andalusia. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Georgia Kilpatrick of Searcy, Ariz.; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Mary Kilpatrick of Ward, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Daniel Bailey of Vilonia, Ariz.; son, Douglas Kilpatrick, of Searcy, Ariz.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Sarah and Scott Bayless and great-granddaughter Keri Bayless; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Tristen and Jacob Dixon and great-grandson, Ethen Dixon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Jerone and Charlotte Kilpatrick of Daleville and Harmon Gaston and Bonita Kilpatrick of Andalusia; one sister and brother-in-law, June and Winston Blackmon of Crestview, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Zelmer Jones of Andalusia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Leanna Kilpatrick; his granddaughter, April Hillman; and his sister, Katherine Jones.
Ed was a member of McRae Church of Christ, a song leader in his church and enjoyed volunteering his time singing at a local nursing home. He was a friend to all in his community, co-owner of Total Comfort in Searcy for many years and was a retired master sergeant, after serving his country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force.
Memorial Services will be held at McRae Church of Christ on Mon., June 8, at 11 a.m. Kevin Damron will officiate. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in memory of his sister, Katherine Jones.
