Dorothy Copeland

Mrs. Dorothy Cravey Copeland, 63, of Florala, died Fri., July 3, 2009, at her home.
Funeral services were held Tues., July 7, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Meadows officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Wyatt Funeral Home directing and special music by pianist Kelley McCollough and soloist Gwen Coon.
Dorothy was a native of the North Creek Community in Covington County. In 1990 she moved to Dothan where she worked for FedEx Freight as an accounts manager. In March 2008, Dorothy retired from FedEx Freight in Dothan to return home to her birthplace to be near family and friends. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. She filled her retirement days with the things she loved most, family, friends and gardening. She was an avid gardener which was evident by the beautiful flowers that surrounded her home.
She is survived by her daughter, Janie Sasser of Dozier; her brother, Johnny Wayne Cravey; nephews, Sonny (Lisa) Cravey and Ashley (Heather) Cravey; great nephews, Jacob Cravey and Riley Cravey, and great nieces, Candance Cravey and Olivia Cravey, all of Florala.
She was preceeded in death by her father, H.C. “Son” Cravey, and mother, Maxine Cravey Holley.
Paul bearers were Sonny Cravey, Ashley Cravey, Lane Cravey, Steve Russell, Lavaughn Whatley and Ray Jackson.
