Mr. Artis G. Owens, 90, of Andalusia died Sun., July 19, 2009, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today, Tues., July 21, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Knowles officiating and special music by Bernice Bullock and Darby Knowles. Burial will follow in Nazarene Cemetery in the Antioch Community.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Paul Owens and Howard and Sue Owens, all of Red Level; sisters-in-law, Malvin Owens of Andalusia, Earnestine Owens of Andalusia and Hazel Owens of Greenwood, Miss.; two grandchildren, Jeff (Vickie) Owens of Red Level and Kenny (Melissa) Owens of Andalusia; and great grandchildren, Zack Owens, Kelley Owens and Sarah Owens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Nina Frances (Williams) Owens; brothers, Albert Owens, Doug Owens, Arthur B. Owens, Lovie Owens, Grady Owens and Cecil Owens; and a sister, Doris Summblin.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lamar Kendrick, Lavon Bullock, Mark Bullock, Joe Worley, Tommy Griffin and Doug Macoff.
