Mr. Charles Douglas Watson, 73, of Maddox Road, Andalusia, lost his battle with cancer Tues., August 4, 2009, and died at his daughter’s residence in Trussville, Ala.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Keahey Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Turman will officiate. Special music will be provided by Larry and Bobbie Turman. Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Hall Watson of Andalusia; sons, Charles Douglas Watson, Jr. of Anniston, Damon Watson of Andalusia and Gary Pittman of Montgomery; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Dak Kline of Peachtree City, Ga., Teresa and Jon Giffin of Greenback, Tenn., Donna and Skip Matthews of Trussville and Sonda Pittman Readett of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; brothers and sisters-in-law: Pete Watson and Raymond and Verna Mae Watson, all of Andalusia, and Roy Watson of Gantt; sisters, Deronda and Donald Dozier and Sybil and Evan Williamson of Troy; grandchildren, Douglas Watson, Edward Dennis, Josh Williams, Brian Pittman, Ali Postma, Tess Postma, Maggie Dennis, Michele Moskal and Abby Grigsby; one great grandson, Stetson Grigsby.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Dewey Watson and Ray Watson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Watson, Todd Watson, Logan Watson, Dusty Williamson, Rusty Williamson and Bray Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Donny Johnson, Billy Joe Griggs and J. W. Pettie.
