LAAC proves that ‘art is for every one’

Dear Editor,

This summer I had the privilege of working with the Lower Alabama Arts Coalition. The group is comprised of a board of directors, the members of which represent a broad spectrum of community involvement; talented artists who devote their skills to teaching young and old the joys of painting, theatre arts, piano, guitar and voice; and dozens of community minded businesses and individuals, without whose sponsorship, it could not survive. While I was always aware of its existence and of the various events and shows it has sponsored in the past, I never really appreciated the scope of its offerings, nor the benefit we as a community receive because of its existence.

We are all fortunate that we can experience the arts through the many opportunities the LAAC provides. There is always a need and a place for teachers and individuals who wish to inspire others with their talents. If you have the gift of artistic expression, you have a venue to explore it and to share it at LAAC, a place where art is, indeed, for everyone.
