Deacon Randolph Feagin

Deacon Randolph “Johnny B.” Feagin was born Nov. 28, 1936, in Covington County to the late O.B. and Ruthie Lee Feagin. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
He moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1959 and joined the Spring Hill Baptist Church and served as a junior deacon. He was employed as a machine operator by Peerless Pipe Company.
After retirement, he returned to the Bethlehem community and was ordained a deacon. He was a faithful member and worked in numerous capacities including co-chairman of Bethlehem Cemetery and landscape maintenance for the church. He was willing to lend a helping hand in every way possible.
He was also a member of Nine of Heart Social Saving Club and on the advisory board of the Better Day Saving Club. He was loved by every one that knew him and will truly be missed by his church family.
Randolph departed this world Aug. 14, 2009, in the UAB hospital in Birmingham. Those who cherish his memory are: one son, Randolph Jr. (Bertha) of Los Angeles, Calif.; one stepson, Larry Hudson of Montgomery; three brothers, Clarence (Ruhama) of Birmingham, Winfred (Helen) of Hartford, Conn., and O.B. Jr. (Christian) of Ontario, Calif.; two sisters, Alma of Birmingham and Helen of Oakland, Calif.; Patricia Meadows, who preceded him in death; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at First Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Red Level. The Rev. Calvin Feagin will officiate and Marshall Hammond Funeral Home will direct.
