The Straughn Tigers are ready to take on the Andalusia Bulldogs tonight in both a rival game and season opener.

The Tigers ended a two-year losing streak against the Bulldogs last season as Straughn opened the year with a 50-26 win.

Straughn coach Trent Taylor said the players are ready to get to work.

“It’s just a great way to start the year to have a game like this and the emotions that surround it are a lot of fun,” Taylor said. “I just hope we play well enough to look good.”

Taylor said the main keys on offense and defense are “not to turn the ball over” and “just try and play assignment football.”

As far as the game being held in Andalusia, Taylor said at least “we don’t have to ride far on the bus.”

Kickoff in Andalusia is at 7 p.m.
