Curnel Hysmith

Mr. Curnel A. Hysmith, 62, of Panama City, Fla,, lost his battle with cancer on Mon., Aug. 24, 2009, and went to his heavenly home.
He was born in Opp on May 2, 1947, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Parker, Fla. He retired with 26 years of service from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. He worked for the Panama City Beach Post Office for 3 1/2 years where he had many good friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Beverly Fern Kilpatrick Hysmith; three daughters, Rita L. Martin (Mike) of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Mindy A. Gardiner (Doug Brand) and Amy Hysmith all of Panama City, Fla.; two grandchildren, Melinda Martin and Zach Gardiner; three sisters, Helen Heitchler (Charles) of Modesto, Calif., Betty McLain (Roy) of Waterford, Calif. and Juanita Moore (John) of El Nido, Calif.; one brother: Edward Hysmith (Becky) of Greensboro, N.C.; his mother-in-law, Betty Kilpatrick of Panama City; four brothers-in-law, Shane Kilpatrick (Sandy) of Fountain, Fla., Clint Kilpatrick (Lisa), Jeremy Kilpatrick all of Panama City and Douglas Kilpatrick of Lakeland, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and his “adopted” family, Geneva Sargent, Judy Hamm and Vickie Ferrell of Lynn Haven, Fla.
Curnel was raised by a loving foster family, Anna and Hollie McGlaun, in Andalusia.
Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church of Parker, 4630 E. Business 98, Panama City, Fla. 32404, at noon on Sat., Aug. 29, 2009, with the Rev. Craig Walker officiating.
