E. Glenn Tiller died Sept. 8, 2009, in Macon, Ga. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thurs., Sept. 10, at Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road in Macon, with Dr. Laudis H. Lanford and Raymond L. Wilkes officiating. Visitation will be between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 9, at the Cupola. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, P.O. Box 2600, Macon, GA 31203.
Mr. Tiller was born in Andalusia and moved to Macon in 1969. He was area manager for Western Union Telegraph for 24 years and then worked 28 years in the fleet and leasing department at Riverside Ford. He was a Methodist and an avid woodworker.
His parents, Dewitt Edwin Tiller and Suzanna Drucilla Beck Tiller; his brother, Carey Tiller; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen Sweatt and Eva Sweatt; preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lynne Sweatt Tiller of Macon; sons, Terry Tiller (Mary) of Macon, Ga., and Bryan Tiller (Julia) of Bolingbroke, Ga.; five grandchildren, Matthew Tiller of Atlanta, Ga., Lindsay Tiller of Macon, Ga., and Glenn Hampton Tiller, Samuel Tiller, and Will Tiller, all of Bolingbroke, Ga.
