Thomas Buchanan rushed for 109 yards on 20 carries and three touchdowns, and Bayside Academy’s strong ground game rolled up 348 yards in a 27-0 victory over Straughn Friday night.

Buchanan scored on touchdown runs of 27 and 2 yards and 1 yard.

Ryan Owens added 153 yards on 12 carries, including a 48-yard scamper in the fourth quarter.

“Our running backs do a very good job on hitting the hole and holding on to the ball,” Bayside coach Phil Lazenby said.

The Admirals’ defense held the Tigers to 147 total yards and forced four fumbles.

Bayside (2-2, 2-1 in Class 3A, Region 1) visits Mobile Christian next Friday at 7 p.m., and Straughn (2-2, 2-1) visits Opp.
