Hello,

My name is Miranda Denny and I am a ninth grade student at Pleasant Home School. I am writing this letter to recognize the date of Sept. 11. Apparently it hasn’t occurred to anyone that this date has arrived.

Sept. 11 is a very sad and tragic day that should be remembered and recognized every year. It was a time of our lives where nobody knew what to do or where to turn to. Pretty much all we could do was plan for the worst, hope for the best and let our precious God do the rest.

Our soldiers are over there getting killed everyday and fighting for our freedom that we have spoiled ourselves with. By spoiled, I am saying that nobody cares about stuff like this anymore, nobody realizes how dangerous everything is. All they care about is the fact that they can do what they want because they are Americans and they are free.

You know, people these days have gotten so carried away by getting whatever they want in life that they don’t even realize what our soldiers are doing so that they can have this freedom they are abusing.

Proof of this would be like, how there are more people in one jail than there are five or six churches, or more teens and children in a juvenile facility than a youth program at church. Other examples are all of these teens getting killed because they decided to get drunk and test out the speed in a vehicle, and so many young girls pregnant and not having any clue how important it really is that they have a life and a career ahead of them.

It never occurs to people, because nobody cares what is going on these days, much less remembering this very day in 2001 when nearly 193 people were killed because some highjackers decided to steal the planes and lives of innocent people.

My point is that nobody expected it then and they don’t now because they don’t care. Get with the program people, our world is falling apart and we are the reason. We can all make a difference, why not try? With God, anything is possible.
