Dorothy B. Ballard, a native of Andalusia and a longtime resident of Semmes, Ala., passed away Sun., Sept. 20, 2009, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Ballard was a longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and an associate member of the Korean War Veterans Association. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Brookelyn “Brooke.”
Survivors include her husband, Walter G. Ballard; seven children, Jerome Ballard, Ann (Ronnie) Babcock, Bobby (Robin) Ballard, Eva Dearman, Billy (Cindy) Ballard, Stephen (Sonya) Ballard and Toi Harter; one brother, Morris Ivey; one sister, Darlyne Godwin; 15 grandchildren, Shawn, Jason, Sheryl, Philip, Lindsey, Eric, Hope, Jeremy, Jessica, Dustin, Hunter, Grant, Stephanie, Kellie and Savanna; nine great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jakeb, Breann, Ava, Tyler, Jasmine, Brannert, Landon and Cameron; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
