The girlfriend of a Florala man arrested in August was captured Thursday in Defuniak Springs, Fla., after fleeing when Drug Task Force agents found a methamphetamine lab in the couple’s Florala home.

Christine Frances Hamilton, 33, was allegedly living with Carlos Kevin Peacock, 43 on Woody Carroll Lane, when the lab was discovered in August. When DTF agents searched the home, they found bi-layered liquids, methamphetamine smoking devices, marijuana, marijuana smoking devices and other chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Peacock was taken into custody at the scene, but DTF Ray Dixon said search warrants were issued for Hamilton’s arrest and a “Be On the Look Out” or BOLO was issued for her vehicle.

On Thursday, Hamilton’s whereabouts were discovered when a Walton County, Fla., sheriff’s deputy noticed her white Hyundai sport utility vehicle with a Florida license plate driving on Kings Lake Boulevard in northern Walton County shortly after 8 p.m.

Walton County’s public information officer Mike Gurspan said Deputy John T. Jordan took Hamilton into custody without incident.

Hamilton is facing charges of trafficking methamphetamines, the unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of marijuana, as well as the chemical endangerment of a child.

She was placed in the Walton County Jail and is awaiting transfer to Covington County, where once she arrives, will beheld on a $1.04 million bond.
