Lurlene Mahaffey

Lurlene “Mamalene” Mahaffey, 80, of Andalusia, passed away Sept. 23, 2009, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., today, Sat., Sept. 26, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends after 9 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son, David Samuel (Sammy) Mahaffey of Andalusia; daughters, Helen (Larry) Andress of Irving, Texas, and Diane (Bill) Palmer of Oneonta, Ala.; brothers, Robert (Era) Messick, Cecil (Rudene) Messick, Rudolph (Martha) Messick, Ottis (Billie Etta) Messick, all of Andalusia; sisters, Lois Henderson, Lola Owens, Elaine (Marvin) Owens, all of Andalusia, Janice Nelson of Grady, and Connie (Monroe) Sasser, also of Andalusia; grandchildren, Angelia Andress Amundsen, Michael (Krista) Andress, David (Tina) Palmer and David Mahaffey; great grandchildren, Todd Andress Amundsen, Charles Michael Andress, Daniel Kyle Andress, Kaylee Grace Palmer and Hanna Jewell Palmer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Raines, C. P. Rogers, Stewart Studstill, Hunter Weaver, Nick White and Catlin Jones.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the David McHaffey Education Fund, c/o Helen Andress, 1708 Antioch Road, Andalusia, AL 36420.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Golden Samuel Mahaffey.
