Dear Family and Friends,
My mother and best friend, Dorothy Crawford, passed away peacefully at home in Knoxville, Tenn., on Mon., Sept. 21, 2009. She was preceded in death 13 years ago by her loving husband and my father, Lloyd C. Crawford.
In spite of health challenges in recent years, she always kept her sense of joy and love of life. It’s no wonder so many of you made a point of staying in touch with her over the years. I’m learning that she influenced many of your lives as much as she did ours.
As a teacher in Red Level High School and Andalusia High School, she helped you set lifetime priorities and cherish the value of education. She was the teacher who listened to you and helped you find direction. Some of you think of her as a role model, aspiring to pass what you learned from her to your families and friends.
If you would like to honor Dorothy Crawford’s life, please call either school and ask what you can do to make her life lessons continue to future generations. Donate a needed book. Fund a special project or piece of equipment. Honor her memory with a gift that would make her proud.
Scott and I are sad to lose her, but we are so proud to be her daughter and son-in-law. She truly enriched our lives while sharing our home during her last years.
A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Her loving daughter,
Lisa Crawford Guyton
Knoxville, Tenn.
