The Pleasant Home Eagles are ready to use the momentum gained from getting their first win last week to face off against Brantley tonight.

Last Friday night, the Eagles ran their way to a 28-6 win over Coffeeville when Tyler Barbaree carried the ball 135 yards to score three touchdowns to help lead his team to the win.

On defense, Pleasant Home only allowed 54 total yards, most of which came in the last minute.

Before their first win, the Eagles were defeated by Samson, Ariton, Geneva County and McKenzie.

Brantley will not be any easier, as the Bulldogs are undefeated in Class 1A, Region 2 play at 3-0. The Eagles are 0-3 in their region.

“These kids have kind of been down on themselves because we’ve been down in a lot of close games and ended up falling short in a lot of them,” Pleasant Home coach Robert Bradford said. “They finally got the monkey off their backs, as you would say. Now, we can push on and try to accomplish our goals for the rest of the year.”

Kickoff in Pleasant Home is at 7 p.m.
