Mr. G. Richard Pait, 78, of Monroeville, passed away Oct. 4, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Pait, a native of South Carolina, was a resident of Monroeville since February 1978. He was the first vice-president of operations for Alabama River Pulp Company for a number of years. He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division and was a second lieutenant. Mr. Pait was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church, the Vanity Fair Golf and Tennis Club and the Andalusia American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Iris Britt Pait; his parents, Raymond Seldon Pait Sr. and Mary Alice Glover Pait; his brother, Benny Ray Pait, and his sister, Mary Joyce Pait. Survivors include a son, Larry Richard Pait and wife, Laura Phelan Pait of Putnam Valley, N.Y.; daughter, Crystal Renée Hendrix and husband Mark Hendrix of Monroeville; a brother, Raymond Seldon Pait Jr. of Bladenboro, N.C.; sisters, Christene Doris Carroll, Shirley Rose Pait and Alice Faye Pait, all of Bladenboro, N.C., Joan Glover Franklin of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Dixie Lynn Holcomb of Fayetteville, N.C. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brittany Renée Hendrix, Jaclyn Ellen Hendrix, Matthew Seldon Pait, Eric Thomas Pait and Dylan Richard Pait.
Funeral services will be Wed., Oct. 7, at 3 p.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with burial in the Pineville Cemetery in Monroeville. Visitation will be Tues., Oct. 6, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Please share your condolences online at monroechapel.com.
