Louise Brown

Mrs. Louise Travis Brown, 94, died Thurs., Oct. 15, 2009, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Brown was born May 13, 1915, in Conecuh County. After her marriage she moved to Andalusia and lived here for more than 67 years. Her father, Henry Travis, and her husband, Roy Brown, owned and operated the B &T Used Furniture Store in Andalusia for many years. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
She was widowed at a very young age and was left with her three young sons to raise alone. She was a loving and devoted mother and a hard worker. She was employed at the Alatex for more than 35 years until her retirement.
Due to declining health, Louise moved to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., in 2000 to be near one of her sons. She lived there for nearly seven years. She then returned to Andalusia to live in Andalusia Manor.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Betty Brown of Lakeland, Fla., Jerry and Barbara Brown of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Lester and Susan Brown of Andalusia; five grandson, Jerome (Marilyn) Brown, Doug (Leah) Brown, Tim (Amy) Brown, Barry (Gail) Brown and Bryan (Ashley) Brown; one granddaughter, Angela(Roger) Clinkingbeard; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brown is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today, Sat., Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Welcome Methodist Church Cemetery in Conecuh County. The Rev. Pritchett will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home.
