Mrs. Alice Geraldine “Gerry” Pugh, 88, of Andalusia, passed away Oct. 16, 2009, at North Shore Living Center in Slidell, La.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Kelley officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Gerry transferred from Meridian, Miss., to Andalusia in 1946 with Southeastern Box Company and served in their office until her retirement in 1985. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, teaching in the preschool department and also a member of the Ladies Sunday School class.
Survivors include her daughter, Gayle P. Davis, and son-in-law, Mickey Davis of Slidell, La.; her granddaughter, Laurie McConaughey, and grandson-in-law, John McConaughey, of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and granddaughter, Melanie Carrillo, and grandson-in-law, Carlos Carillo, of Las Vegas, Nev. Her extended family also includes four great-grandchildren, Annabelle McConaughey, Will McConaughey, Gavin Carillo and Lilly Carillo.
Gerry was preceded in death by her father, Roy C. Pugh; mother, Minnie A. Pugh; and brother, Edward C. Pugh, all of Meridian, Miss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or to the Gideons.
