Andalusia’s Vector Aerospace announced this week it has been awarded a subcontract to provide helicopter repair and maintenance services to Ft. Rucker.

The contract, which was awarded by Army Fleet Support, will allow the company to provide support to the U.S. Army’s TH-67 (Bell 206) Flying Hour Program. Under the contract, employees in Andalusia will do aircraft inspection and painting 25 TH-67 helicopters operating out of the Fort Rucker Army airfield. As an add-on to this subcontract award, Vector has also received approval to complete aircraft structural overhauls on two heavily damaged TH-67 helicopters.

Kearns said that Vector Aerospace-Andalusia is a Bell Helicopter-approved repair and overhaul center, and that the company has extensive experience providing helicopter repair and overhaul support to the U.S. Armed Services; including a subcontract that has been in place with L-3 Vertex since 2003 for aircraft condition inspection (ACI) support for U.S. Navy TH-57 helicopters based out of Naval Air Station-Whiting Field, Fla.
