After losing two games in a row, Florala came away with a nine-point victory over Goshen last Friday night at home.

Three Wildcat players helped lead their team to the win, shooting in double figures.

Zac Fleming led in scoring with 16 points, followed by Hunter Oswald with 15 points and Colt Jackson with 13.

“We played pretty well,” Florala coach Brad Garner said. “We had three guys in double figures, which anytime we do that, it’s going to help our chances.”

Garner said play during the second half was a lot better than the first.

“Goshen put pressure on us in the first half and we weren’t handling it real well,” he said. “We came out and took care of the basketball better and we got some easy buckets.”

Garner said the success in the second half was so good that his team took a 20-point lead at one point.

“We shot the ball a little better and free throws were a little bit better,” he said. “It’s always good to get a win under your belt.”

Florala’s next game will be on Tues., Nov. 30 at New Brockton.

For the Thanksgiving holidays, the Wildcats will be taking a much-needed break to get some rest before starting back up on Monday because most players on the team just finished playing football.

In B-team action, Florala won 26-23.
