Thanks to high beer sales, Andalusia’s Beef O’ Brady’s won the opportunity to be advertised on a NASCAR driver’s vehicle during the Miami race last weekend.

Andalusia Beef O’ Brady’s co-owners Dwayne and Star Fisel won a contest for selling 332 percent of their restaurant’s beer compared to last year.

The restaurant in Andalusia was competing against the other 269 locations throughout the country to win tickets to the Homestead Miami Speedway race that took place last weekend.

The store had the highest increase in same-store sales from last year on Miller and Coors products during an eight-week period this summer.

In addition, they also won the chance to have their restaurant name pasted on the back of NASCAR driver Kurt Busch’s No. 2 Miller Lite racecar.

“It sounds like a lot but we don’t sell a lot of beer,” Dwayne Fisel said.

While at the racetrack last weekend, Star and her sister-in-law, Sue Miller, visited pit row and had the opportunity to talk with Busch before the race.

Dwayne said they would not have won the contest if it were not for the loyal patrons of the restaurant.

“We get a lot of people who come in and watch games, college football on Saturdays, some on Sunday and some for the races,” he said. “Ever since we came to Andalusia, the people have embraced us and supported us.

“Without the return visitors and patrons, not only would we not win contests — we wouldn’t be here,” he said. “The customers have really been here for us when we needed them, and we’ve been doing our best to return that favor.”

Beef O’ Brady’s is located in the Westgate Plaza next to Arby’s on U.S. Highway 84.
