Christine Hildreth

Christine Lee Hildreth, 90, passed to life eternal on Dec. 2, 2009.
She was born in Bellwood, Ala. on Aug. 13, 1919, to Henry Cade and Carrie Mae Lee, the eighth of 10 children.
Visitation will be tonight from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory and on Sat., Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Enterprise.
A celebration of her life will be held in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 5, with burial to follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery.

A graduate of Daleville High School and the Moody School of Nursing in Dothan, Hildreth pursued further nurse’s training in Selma. She joined her sister Mazie in enlisting for service in World War II, and they were stationed together at a military hospital in Boca Raton, Fla.
Following the war, Hildreth moved to Enterprise and began a career of more than 30 years as a registered nurse at Gibson Hospital and Enterprise Medical Clinic. She met and married James Hildreth, with whom she enjoyed more than 59 years and four children.
Hildreth was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Enterprise and treasured her association with the Edna Guice Sunday School Class for many years. She was devoted to her family, faith and community. All were enriched by her love.
Hildreth was preceded in death by her husband, James; sisters, Mildred Heath and Mazie Bynum; and by brothers, Dell, Don, Max and Rex Lee.
Survivors include children, Mary Ann and Jimmy Lee of Andalusia, Jim Hildreth of Enterprise, Susan Hildreth of Montgomery, and John Hildreth of Austin, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren, Jason (Leesa) Lee of Birmingham and Jennifer Lee of Andalusia. Her precious great-grandson, Jack, also survives her. Also surviving are her sisters, Dorothy Brunson of Hastings, Mich., and Carolyn Richardson of Chipley, Fla., as well as brother, Calvin Lee of Enterprise.
