Take a tour

Sunday will bring a treat for the senses – visions of Christmas decorations at five local residences and delicious refreshments provided by Dean’s Cake House – as the Andalusia’s Luncheon Pilot Club hosts its first Christmas Tour of Homes.

The homes of Barbara and Walter Nichols, Mary Lee and John Howard, Dot Burkett and Roger LeCompte and Linda and Phil Tisdale, as well as the Sunshine House, will be featured on the day’s tour.

Each stop on the tour is dripping in holiday finery and are ready for the day’s viewing. Tickets are $10 each and, along with maps of the tour route, are available from any Pilot member, at Harold’s Discount Furniture or the day of at Dean’s Cake House.

Dean’s will serve as the tour’s hospitality center and feature a wide variety of holiday refreshments from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

‘The 12 days of Christmas’ theme is foremost as guests are greeted with a ‘partridge in a pear tree’ at the front door of the Hidden Forest Lane of Barbara and Walter Nichols. Nichols is featured in her dining room adorned with ‘Five Golden Rings.’

Poinsettias abound and Christmas trees light up nearly every room of the home of Phil and Linda Tisdale on Prestwood Bridge Road.

‘It’s a small, small world,’ friends might say as they make their way through the Antioch Road home of Dot Burkett and Roger LeCompte and enjoy the delightful holiday decorations and original artwork by Burkett.

The feeling of family is the theme for the home of Mary Lee Howard (left) and her husband, John.

Come and see a Christmas village collection more than 20-years in the making at the couple’s Sutton Road home.
