Straughn 60, Elba 58

Four Straughn players scored in double figures Monday night to help edge Elba by two points in Straughn.

Austin Pickrel led his team with 13 points, James Byrd had 12, C.J. Christopher had 11 and Caleb Cochran had 10.

Elba’s Kareem Siler led his team with 17 points.

Straughn will host Red Level tonight. B-team tips off at 4:30.

In girls varsity action, the Lady Tigers won 58-45.

Opp 51, Samson 42

Opp outscored Samson 18-8 in the fourth quarter to advance in the Daleville Tournament.

The Bobcats trailed Samson 13-9 after the first quarter, 26-21 at halftime and 34-33 at the end of the third quarter.

Opp’s Gavin Free led with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Opp will play Daleville tonight at 7:30.

Highland Home 63, Red Level 58

Red Level lost at home Monday night to the visiting Flying Squadron by five points.

Red Level’s Troy Nolen led his team with 25 points and Trey Salter had 10.
