A Drug Task Force surveillance operation led to the arrest of three Opp men Tuesday after each was allegedly caught in the act of selling drugs.

Agent Paul Hudson said the operation was conducted on a Kolb Avenue residence in Opp when agents first observed two distributions of an un-named controlled substance.

“We also observed a subject holding a plastic bag containing crack cocaine,” Hudson said. “We then called the Opp Police Department for assistance to make the arrest. When they arrived, we took Willie George English into custody after finding the plastic bag in his possession.”

Hudson said agents and OPD officers also arrested Kelvis Coleman, 30, after he was allegedly seen distributing an un-named controlled substance at three different times.

A third arrest — 44-year-old Darryl McDonald — was also made. McDonald is charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance and is currently being held in the Covington County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

English is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation and held without bond in the Covington County Jail.

Coleman now faces three counts of distribution of a controlled substance and is being held on a $300,000 bond.

“Just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean we take time away from fighting the war on drugs in Covington County,” Hudson said after expressing his thanks to the OPD for their assistance.
