Andalusia defeated Paxton (Fla.), 48-26, and Straughn beat Loveless Academy Magnet Program (LAMP), 50-38.

Andalusia and Straughn will meet today at 3 p.m. in the winners bracket.

Andalusia 48, Paxton 26

Andalusia’s Amber Anderson and Alexis Horton led with 11 points apiece, while Erica King had nine and Shi’Amber Townsend added seven.

The Lady Bulldogs (9-4) were down 12-9 at halftime before outscoring Paxton 14-12 in the third quarter and 22-5 in the fourth for the win.

“We just played well in the fourth quarter,” Andalusia coach Bennie Shellhouse said. “We’re playing good defense and are in better shape — that helps us a lot.”

Andalusia was 8-of-15 from the free throw line.

Straughn 50, LAMP 38

Three Straughn players scored in double figures Monday afternoon.

Kimberly Teel led with 12 points, Tiffany Taylor had 11 and Kayla Teel had 10.

“I thought we played real well on the defensive end,” Straughn coach Scott Kinsaul said. “We played an overall solid ball game.”
