Allen George Solomon Sr., 81, passed away at his home on Sun., Jan. 3, 2010.
A memorial service will be held at a later time. Interment will be in the Solomon Cemetery in Grady County, Ga.
Mr. Solomon was born on Sept. 8, 1928, in Dividing Creek, N.J., to the late Allen Solomon and Margaret Bradley Solomon. He was retired as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid dog lover. His favorite dogs were “Buster” and “Pete.” He loved to work all the time. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dorice and Rodger Timmons, Sandra and James McMullen, Rose and Colt Manasco, all of Cairo, Ga., and Elenora and David Solomon of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Kathy Solomon of Stuart, Fla., John and Debra Solomon of Michigan, Thomas Solomon of Cairo, Ga., Michael Solomon of Cairo, Ga., Ray Mauldin of Andalusia, and Jeff Mobley of Cairo, Ga.; significant other, Glendia Powell of Andalusia; 77 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Solomon was preceded in death by: his wife, Dorice Solomon; his parents, Allen and Margaret Solomon; sons, Allen Solomon Jr. and James Solomon; daughter, Cathy Moses; and a great-great-grandson, Aiden Timmons.
