Amanda “Mandy” Margaret Jensen, 53, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Thurs., Dec. 31, 2009, in Panama City Beach, Fla. She was born Dec. 22, 1956, in Andalusia.
Adventurous and free-spirited, Mandy had a passion for trying new things. Her artistry and creativity were revealed in her writing, music, her home décor and designing and making jewelry and clothes. She loved cooking, flower gardening and creating an atmosphere of comfort and welcome in her home. Mandy had an overwhelming love for her family, friends and animals and a compassionate and generous heart. Her compassion extended to family and friends and people who were in need. She was especially known for her gift of “healing hands” therapy, which provided pain relief to so many. Her bright light will shine forever in our hearts.
Survivors include her husband, Derrick Jensen; her son, Davis Jensen; her mother, Margaret Shelley; her father Joe Breck Gantt and wife Anne; her sister, Gretchen Franco; her niece, Alexis Franco; and many cousins and friends.
Visitation with the family will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., Jan. 9, 2010, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating.
The family gratefully requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Panama City Rescue Mission, 609 Allen Avenue, Panama City, FL 32402, or the charity of one’s choice.
