Two Andalusia men were sent to the hospital early Thursday morning after their truck hit a power pole.

A spokesman for the Alabama State Troopers said the accident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Alabama Hwy. 55 near Libertyville at the 21.5 mile-marker, when a 2004 Dodge pickup, driven by 38-year-old Christopher Scott McNeil of Andalusia, left the roadway and struck a power pole.

Accident reports show Scotty Goings, 39, and Jerry Finley, 41, both passengers in the vehicle, were both injured during the accident and transported to Andalusia Regional Hospital for treatment.

The Trooper spokesman could not comment as to the extent of the two men’s injuries and stated the circumstances leading up to the accident remain under investigation.
