The Straughn Tigers boys basketball team fell to Calhoun Friday night 70-43, ending its season at the Class 3A, Area 3 tournament at Central-Hayneville High School.

“It was a tough night,” Straughn coach Todd Reynolds said. “(Calhoun) jumped out hard and heavy. We didn’t have any answers for them.”

Caleb Cochran led Straughn with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Despite the loss, Reynolds said the team executed well

“They played real hard, but it just wasn’t our night,” he said. “We knew we had to play a good game to have a chance. Our hats go off to Calhoun. They kept the pressure on us and they deserved to win. Now, we’re going to start the process to get ready to go for next year.”

Straughn ended its season with a 10-13 record.
