Mayor Earl Johnson called The Star-News Friday morning with a “mock” invitation to a press conference at city hall.

“I’m going to be making an important announcement,” he said. “We’re putting in a bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. We’ll do the downhill events on Debro Hill and have bobsledding on the square.”

Unbeknownst to the mayor, there were already some “Olympic” sports happening in Andalusia. Dr. Bob Bush was snow skiing at the Andalusia Country Club.
