Mary Jane Jeffcoat Zorn, 65, of Florala, Ala., died Mon., Feb. 15, 2010, in Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thurs., Feb. 18, from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel in Opp with Elder Bill Richoux officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Pickron and the Rev. Mark Perry. Burial will follow in the Opp City Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at Wyatt Funeral Home.
Special music will be provided by Richard Talada of LaBelle, Fla.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Florala Public Library.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Glen D. Zorn of Florala; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Samantha Zorn; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Patrick Weeks; and two precious grandchildren, Jansen and Curtis Zorn, all of Opp; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack and Michaelyn Zorn of LaBelle, Fla; Dale and Sally Zorn of Pensacola, Fla; and Lynn and Annabel Zorn of Florala.
Her parents, Cecil Shelby and Velma Hester Jeffcoat; and her sister, Janet Jeffcoat Sams, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Gid Zorn of New Brockton, and John Zorn of Lawrenceville, Ga.; John Dee of Opp; Kevin Goolsby of Navarre Beach, Fla.; Keith York of Auburn, Ala; and Roger Boyington of Andalusia.
Mrs. Zorn attended Auburn University and graduated from Troy State University with a degree in education. She taught briefly at Mary Esther Elementary School in Mary Esther, Fla. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Florala. She was an active member of her community, serving in various roles in many clubs and organizations including Florala Study Club, Florala Historical Society and the Florala Public Library Board. She especially enjoyed her bridge clubs in Florala and DeFuniak Springs, Fla.
In recent years, she spent most of her time enjoying her children, grandchildren and traveling with and supporting her husband. Spending time with her family was the most important thing in her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
