AHS girls pick up win, boys lose 2

Last Thursday night, the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs beat Florala 15-0 in three innings.

Paige Caraway earned the win for Andalusia striking out nine batters.

In their last game, the Lady Bulldogs (2-0) beat Red Level 7-2 to open the season.

In the past two games alone, Caraway has struck out 21 batters in nine innings.

Jessica Park was 1-for-3 with one single and one run; Sam Greene scored two runs; A.C. Riley had two walks and scored three runs; Abbie Young had two walks and scored two runs; Megan Pugh was 2-for-3 with two singles, two runs and five RBIs; Emily Terry was 1-for-1 with one double, two runs and one RBI; and Paige Caraway was 1-for-2 with one double, two RBIs and two runs.

In boys action on Saturday, the Bulldogs lost to Carroll-Ozark in a doubleheader.

Andalusia lost 7-4 in the first game and 7-5 in the second game.

Last Wednesday, the Bulldogs lost to Jackson 6-0 after the first game and 14-3 after the second at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College.

“Compared to our games on Wednesday, we played with a lot of intensity on Saturday,” Andalusia coach Jonathan Rasberry said.

Andalusia’s Shane Culbreth and Zack Ward earned the losses on Saturday.

The Bulldogs will travel to play Charles Henderson today at 4 p.m.
