Mary Dickens Compton, 90, a native of Covington County and a resident of Carrington Place in Satsuma, Ala., for the past two years, passed away Sun., Feb. 21, 2010.
She was a lifetime member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wed., Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. from Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Kelly officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery, with Radney Funeral Home of Saraland directing.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Davison, Marcus Godwin, Glen Knowles, William Knowles, D.C. Lambert and Jack Sansom.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Diamond and Coleman Compton; two sisters, Leora Haswell and Tessie Hayes; and three brothers, Willard, James and Ernest Dickens.
Survivors include one sister, Iva White; one brother, Marlin Dickens; two daughters, Shirley (Jack) Presnall and Joyce (Mickey) Schrader; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
