Andalusia and Opp will hit the road this weekend to participate in a tournament in Brantley and Luverne.

The tournament format is pool play with Andalusia and Opp in Pool B with Luverne.

Teams in Pool A are Brantley, Pike County and Enterprise.

Depending on how well each team does in their first two games of the tournament will determine what seed they will be on Saturday.

The No. 1 seed will play at 2 p.m., the No. 2 seed will play at 11:30 a.m. and the No. 3 seed will play at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Andalusia coach Jonathan Rasberry said he knows it’s going to be a tough tournament and that his team must make “routine plays.”

“If we can put the ball in play and make routine plays, then that will give us an opportunity to win,” Rasberry said. “You’ve got Luverne, who lost to Charles Henderson 4-3 in a very close game.

“Opp has a very good team, and it’s going to be tough,” he said. “We’re going to have to go over there and play well and not make mistakes.”

For Opp, having good fundamentals is essential this weekend.

“We’ve got to continue doing a good job of pitching and throwing strikes on defense,” Opp coach Michael Cassady said. “We’ve also got to hit the ball.”

Andalusia will play Opp at 4:30 p.m. and will conclude with Luverne at 7 tonight.

Opp will play Luverne at 2 p.m. today.
