Gerald Fowler, 73, of the Harmony Community, passed away Tues., March 2, 2010, in the Opp Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Thurs., March 4, at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Boles officiating. Interment followed in the Harmony Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Greg Cotter officiating and Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lura Mae Fowler of the Harmony Community; son and daughter-in-law, Mark (Chandra) Fowler of Andalusia; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel (Donald) Messick of Troy; grandchildren, Matthew (Emili) Fowler, Christopher Fowler, both of Andalusia, Wesley Messick, Wade Messick and Waylon Messick, all of Troy; brothers, Wallace Fowler and Johnny Fowler Jr., both of Red Level; sisters, Martha Jo Worley of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Imogene Barlow of Castleberry.
He was preceded by sister, Glenda Sue Worley, and brother, Joel Fowler.
