“They Say” a Saturday night raid of an Andalusia nightclub led to two arrests by the Alabama Beverage Control Board.

Lt. Lance Price said complaints from neighbors and two local churches prompted agents to begin investigations into dealings at the club “They Say” on South Cotton Street.

“We were informed there was going to be a party there where you could pay to get in the door and that would get you free food and alcohol,” Price said. “From a law enforcement standpoint, that constitutes the sale of alcohol since the beverage was included in the price, and when an undercover agent went in and received a drink, we went in and seized all the alcohol.”

Arrested were Andrew Johnson, 50, and Reginald Daniels, 43, for the unlawful sale of alcohol. Each were booked into the Covington County Jail and held on a $3,000 bond.

Price said while both marijuana and cocaine were found inside the club’s common area, ownership could not be established, and no drug arrests were made. Additionally, there were no minors arrested at the establishment, he said.

Agencies assisting included the Andalusia Police Department, the Covington County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Task Force.
