After having a hard week at practice last week, the Andalusia Bulldogs got its second win of the season at the Brantley tournament last weekend.

Andalusia finished 1-2 in the tournament, falling to Opp and Luverne. The Bulldogs defeated Pike County in their last game of the tournament to improve their record to 2-8.

Andalusia coach Jonathan Rasberry said the team played with a lot of emotion on Saturday after the close game Friday night.

“I thought we played pretty well,” he said. “Our swings looked a lot better. It was evident after the good hard practices this past week.”

The Bulldogs lost to Opp 6-5 in what Rasberry said was a close game.

“We had a real good game with Opp,” he said. “It was back and forth the entire game.”

In the first game on Saturday, Andalusia lost to Luverne, 9-2.

Andalusia’s only win was against Pike County, where AHS won in a 9-0 shutout.

Andalusia will travel to play Straughn on Friday in a doubleheader, starting at 5 p.m.
