A 21-year-old Opp man was jailed Friday under allegations he had sexual relations with two girls under age 16.

Chief Deputy David Anderson of the Covington County Sheriff’s Office said Johnathan W. Coon is being held on one count of first-degree rape and one count of second-degree rape – charges stemming from separate incidents involving each of the victims.

Anderson said family members reported the alleged crime to Investigator Howard West Friday morning. By that night, Coon was booked into the Covington County Jail under a $400,000 bond.

Details surrounding the case were not immediately released, and additional charges could be forthcoming, Anderson said.
