Groundbreaking today

The City of Andalusia will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the SaeHaeSung Alabama expansion, at 2:30 today, Fri., March 19,, at the Andalusia Industrial Park on Sutton Road.

The SaeHaeSung expansion will include a newly constructed 72,000 square foot building with a 6,000 square foot administration building attached to it. It will be built in the City’s industrial park, near its current facility. SaeHaeSung will occupy the building through a 10 year lease-purchase agreement.

Mr. In-Tae Heo, the company’s owner, will invest an additional $10 million in equipment in the facility and the operation will be expanded from welding and shipping to include a stamping operation. The company, which is Hyundai supplier, will add a minimum of 150 jobs over the next two years to its current 100 employees.

The City has already begun clearing the lot on which the facility will be built in order to meet a June 1 deadline for the completion of the manufacturing facility.
