Minnie Lee Driver, 92, of Rose Hill, passed away Thurs., March 18, 2010.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sun., March 21, at Good News Baptist Chapel with the Rev. Jay Driver officiating. Interment will follow in the Good News Baptist Chapel Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. Family will receive friends tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She graduated from Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in English. She retired from the Covington County School System after 29 years of service. She was a lifelong resident of the Rose Hill community where she was a member of the Good News Baptist Chapel.
She was known to her family and church members as a great prayer warrior and leaves as her greatest legacy her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie (Janice) Driver of Rose Hill; daughters, Pamela Miller and Rhonda Kay Driver, both of Rose Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma (Ewin) Moody of Eufaula; 12 twelve grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Driver is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Driver; daughter, Melba Gail Brown; son-in-law, Jimmy Miller; and siblings, Ruth Grimes, Olin Worley, Reedie Grimes, Nana Lou Hanson, Eula Mae Driver, Gladys Grimes, Emma Laura Smith and Clayton Worley.
Serving as pallbearers are Sterling Driver, Trenton Driver, Trevor Driver, Micah Miller, Avery Driver and Jordan Newman.
