After earning their fourth area win Tuesday night defeating Bullock County 20-3, the Opp Bobcats will face Ashford next Thursday night on the road. If they win that game, the Bobcats will earn a ticket to the playoffs.

Opp defeated Samson and Bullock County 13-4 and 20-3 on Monday and Tuesday night, respectively.

The Bobcats improve to 12-2 overall, and 4-0 in Class 4A, Area 2 after the two wins this week.

Opp 13, Samson 4

Two Opp players hit home runs in their Monday night win over Samson.

Alex Banks was 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBIs; and Gavin Free was 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBIs, one single and one double.

The Bobcats scored two runs in the first inning, three in the second, one in the third, five in the fourth and two in the fifth in the win.

Josh Thompson was 1-for-5 with one single and one RBI; Dilan Ziglar was 2-for-4 with two singles and one RBI; Trey Short was 2-for-4 with two singles and one RBI; Lance Robbins was 4-for-4 with three singles, one double and one RBI; Steadman Gerber was 1-for-4 with one single; and Hunter Wilson was 3-for-4 with three singles and two runs.

Bullock County 3

Opp’s Alex Banks hit two home runs and Hunter Jones hit a solo home run to propel their team to a 17-run win over area opponent Bullock County.

Banks hit his first home run in the second inning a mere two batters after Jones hit his solo home run.

In the first inning, Opp’s Thompson, Banks and Robbins scored for their team to take an early 3-0 lead over Bullock County.

In the second, Wilson, Britt Wilson, Jones, Thompson, Banks (2), Short and Robbins scored.

Banks scored the only run in the third inning.

The fourth inning saw Thompson, Banks, Gerber and Robbins cross the plate for the Bobcats.

Bullock County got on board scoring two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Opp scored its final three runs in the fifth inning as Jones, Thompson and Short came home on two hits.

Opp will travel to Red Level Tues., March 23, where the junior varsity team will begin at 4 p.m.
