Ruth M. South Doughtie, born May 4, 1919 in Red Level, passed away Wed., March 17, 2010 in the Andalusia Manor.
After living in Norfolk, Va., for most of her life, she returned to Andalusia in 1999. She was employed in a career she loved as the manager of a uniform shop and frequently outfitted Naval officers stationed at Norfolk.
Funeral services were held Fri., March 19, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Pritchett officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray and Janice Turner; her grandchildren, Cindy (Mike) Aplin and David Turner, all of Red Level; her great-grandchildren, Tonya (Alex) Mount of Andalusia and Tessa (Royal) Patterson of Red Level; three great-great-grandchildren, Shane Turner, Rauston Patterson and Justin Patterson; and three sisters, Wylene (Archie) Williams of Andalusia, Lois Hunt of Winter Haven, Fla., and Jeanette South of St. Petersburg, Fla.
