Red Level managed to win big over Butler County Magnet School on the road Monday night.

The Tigers (5-17) beat the Panthers, 14-6.

Red Level’s Troy Nolen hit his first and only solo home run of the year to get his team on board early in the game.

Nick Nolen earned the win on the mound.

Troy Nolen was 3-for-3 at the plate.

“This time of the year when you know you’re out of the playoffs — it’s hard to stay focused and play,” Red Level coach Tony Ingram said. “We came out flat and the players are disappointed in the season, but they picked it up and are finishing strong.”

The Tigers have two more games left in their season for 2010.

Red Level will travel to play Brantley on Thursday night at 4 p.m., and then on Friday, the Tigers finish at home against area opponent Excel at 4 p.m.

“If you can’t make the playoffs, the best you hope for is that you play your last game at home and win it,” Ingram said.
