Glenn Jackson, 70, of Opp, died April 6, 2010, at home and went to meet the “Blessed Redeemer.”
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Fri., April 9, at Foreman-Brown Service Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Driver, Bro. Bob Kendrick and Bro. Scott Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Babbie with Foreman Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was also the owner/operator of Jackson Signs in Andalusia for many years. He loved serving the Lord and was very active in church. During the past 12 years of sickness, his one desire was that his life and death would bring glory to God. His life has been a testimony in so many ways, and he has left an amazing legacy for his family and friends. He was cared for by his loving, faithful and patient wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Talmadge and Lonie Mae Jackson; and brothers, Earl and Harvey Jackson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Bertha Lou Short Jackson of Opp; daughters, Retha Jackson of Rose Hill and Renona (Joe) Richburg of Opp; granddaughters, Amy Mitchell (Gary) Youngblood of Tuscaloosa and Jennifer Mitchell (Gray) Rider of Huntsville; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Leigh Dunaway and Sarah Grace Dunaway of Tuscaloosa, Logan Garrett Youngblood of Tuscaloosa, Emily Grayson Rider, Rachel Elizabeth Rider and Justin Daniel Rider, all of Huntsville; and many special friends.
Pallbearers will be Arnie Cobb III, Shannon Cobb, Joshua Driver, Larry Jackson, Wesley Jeffcoat and Gary Maddox.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Daysprings Hospice, 201 West Lee Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.
