Florala ended its season Friday night in the first round of the Class 1A state playoffs in Brantley.

The Bulldogs swept the Wildcats in two games, winning 13-0 and 14-1.

“We played terrible,” Florala coach Stan Gooden said. “Our pitchers didn’t throw strikes and it was what I thought it would be if we made mistakes and not throw strikes. That’s exactly what happened.”

Florala ended its season 11-21.

Gooden said the team didn’t show any competitiveness.

“There’s not a whole lot I can say,” he said. “When you walk 12 and hit two batters and balk runners in, you don’t give yourself a chance to compete, and we didn’t do that.”
