Revenue commissioner becoming probate judge

MONTGOMERY (AP) — Gov. Bob Riley has appointed one of his Cabinet members, Revenue Commissioner Tim Russell, to serve as probate judge of Baldwin County.

Riley said Friday that Russell’s appointment is effective May 3. He replaces Adrian Jones, who retired.

Russell has been in charge of the state Revenue Department since 2008. He served as mayor of Foley from 1996-2006.
