Archie A. Williams, 85, of Andalusia, died Sun., April 18, 2010, at his residence.
He was born in Red Level to Alma and Allie Cox Williams. He served in the Army in the Pacific during WWII. He moved to Niagara Falls, N.Y., in the mid 1950s and was employed by General Motors at the Chevrolet Engine Plant in Tonawanda, N.Y. until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed gardening and many other outdoor activities.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., today, April 20, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Foreman Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Wylene S. Williams of Andalusia; his stepdaughters, Margaret (Wayne) Bennett and Deborah (Casey) Jackson of Andalusia; his brother, Curtis “Coy” Williams of Red Level; a sister, Mary Lou Cowan of Blakely, Ga.; step-grandsons, Robert Jackson and Ryan Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Williams, Bill Owens, Roland Fletcher, Dalton Barton, Dallas Merritt and Byram Lambert.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church.
